September 30, Fineko/abc.az. To improve the quality of assessment reports, the Accounts Chamber of Azerbaijan plans to conduct monitoring based on random selection, develop uniform templates and checklists for banks, courts, and government agencies.

Chamber’s chairman Nusret Ibragimov noted that the desire of customers for cheap, fast or pre-determined reports confirming the price undermines the credibility of the profession, so the responsibility falls not only on the appraiser, but also on the customer and the bodies accepting the report.

Stressing that unjustified overestimation of property value creates risks for borrowers, and underestimation leads to losses, Ibragimov noted that in order to eliminate the lack of information about actual contractual prices and expand appraisers' access to registry data, proposals were prepared for legislation.
