October 2, Fineko/abc.az. Against the backdrop of sharp price fluctuations in global energy markets, the price of Azerbaijan's flagship export crude oil, "Azeri Light" (CIF), registered a significant surge.

The price of a barrel of "Azeri Light" delivered on CIF terms to the Italian port of Augusta jumped by $5.5 or 4.61% compared to the previous trading session, reaching $124.76 per barrel.

Market analysts attribute this sharp upward trajectory to escalating geopolitical risks in the Middle East, ongoing supply chain disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz, and heightened global concerns over energy supply security.
