September 29, Fineko/abc.az. Expectations of tighter monetary policy of the US Federal Reserve System (FRS) in the fight against inflation and rising energy prices in Europe sharply reduced the euro exchange rate.
As a result, the EUR/USD parity fell by 0.3% in a day to 1.1332, which is the lowest level since June 24 of this year.
Rising tensions in the Middle East and growing oil prices are adding to global inflationary pressures. Markets estimate the probability that the Fed will raise the interest rate by 25 basis points at the October meeting at 73%.
Reports on employment in the U.S. and the number of jobs outside agriculture (NFP), which will be released this week, will have direct impact on US dollar's position.
