July 3, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan is committed to the goals of sustainable development and recognizes the crucial role of public-private partnerships in the development of environmental, social and corporate governance.
ABC.AZ reports that Deputy Minister of Economy Sahib Mammadov made this statement during the summit on Environmental, Social & Corporate Governance (ESG) on the topic "Public-private partnership for sustainable Development".
"Azerbaijan has embarked on a path of transformation by adopting the law on public-private partnership in December 2022 to ensure reliable cooperation between sectors. In accordance with these principles, we have developed clear incentives and guarantees to attract investment and stimulate economic growth, while ensuring transparency, efficiency and fairness. This is closely aligned with our commitments to respect the rule of law and protect free competition, ensuring that our partnerships are not only economically beneficial, but also ethically and socially responsible. I am pleased to announce one of the initiatives that we are implementing within the framework of the public-private partnership mechanism - desalination of seawater for the production of drinking water," Mammadov said.
