March 12, Fineko/abc.az. Over Jan-Dec 2023, Azerbaijan imported 13,673 tons of buckwheat from abroad for $7.97 million.

The indiactor is $3.992 million in value terms and 2,425 tons or 21.6% more in volume compared with Jan-Dec 2022, ABC.AZ reports with reference to the State Statistics Committee.

Over Jan-Dec 2022, the country imported 11,249 tons of buckwheat for $11.9 million from abroad.

The import price for 1 ton of buckwheat was $519 in 2023 and $986 in the same period of 2022. Over the past year, prices fell by $467 (47.3%).

In general, the import of 1 kg of buckwheat for Jan-Dec 2023 amounted to 0.88 manats (a drop of 0.79 manats).

Over Jan-Dec 2022, buckwheat imports totaled 1.68 manats per kg.
