February 21, Fineko/abc.az. The volume of cargo transported by sea in Azerbaijan in January 2023 amounted to 564,700 tons and increased by 26.7% compared with January of the previous year.

ABC.AZ was informed at the State Statistics Committee that 57.1% of the transported cargo accounted for oil cargo.

Seaports performed 894,200 tons of loading and unloading operations, including 727,500 tons of transit cargo (81.4%). As of 1 February 2023, the volume of cargo remaining in the ports amounted to 30,600 tons.

"During the period, the number of passengers transported by this type of transport increased by 88.9% compared to January 2022 and amounted to 1,700 people," the Committee says.
