October 19, Fineko/abc.az. In the first 9 months of 2026, Azerbaijan recorded an increase in meat imports in both physical and monetary terms.

The State Customs Committee informs that the statistical value of meat imports, which reached $75.77 million in the first 9 months of 2025, grew by 18% up to $89.37 million in the same period of 2026.

The physical volume of meat supplies from abroad has also increased. While 33,320.97 tons of meat were imported in the corresponding period of 2025, this figure increased by 14% to 37,939.03 tons in the first 9 months of 2026.

The share of meat in the country's total imports increased from 0.45% for Jan-Sept 2025 up to 0.67% in 2026.

Against the background of an increase in both the physical volume of meat imports and its cost, the average import price per 1 ton of meat grew from about $2,274 to $2,355.
