October 19, Fineko/abc.az. In the first 9 months of 2026, Azerbaijan recorded an increase in wheat imports in both physical and monetary terms.

According to the State Customs Committee, the statistical value of wheat imports, which reached $188.58 million for Jan-Sept 2025, grew by 19% up to $224.03 million.

The physical volume of wheat supplies from abroad has also increased. While 878,669.64 tons of wheat were imported in the corresponding period of 2025, this figure grew by 18.8% up to 1,044,835.35 tons.

The share of wheat in country's overall imports increased from 1.12% in the first 9 months of 2025 up to 1.68% in 2026.
