Volkswagen's Global Deliveries Fall 14.3% in Q3 Due to Slump in China

14:20 - 12.10.2026

October 12, Fineko/abc.az. Volkswagen Group reported a 14.3% decline in global vehicle deliveries for the third quarter of 2026, falling to 1.885 million units.

The contraction was primarily driven by a steep 38.5% drop in China (down to 405,800 units) amid fierce domestic EV competition, alongside an 86.4% plunge in US electric vehicle sales following the end of incentive programs. For the first nine months of the year, total global deliveries fell 9% to 6.011 million vehicles.

Conversely, battery-electric vehicle (BEV) sales in Europe surged 19.6% in Q3, with new affordable models like the ID. Polo and Skoda Epiq securing nearly 150,000 orders.
