October 16, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan continues implementing projects for the modernization of transport infrastructure and development of urban mobility. They cover Azerbaijan Railways CJSC (ADY) and Baku Metro CJSC, which are part of AZCON Holding.

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has given a $350 million loan to install modern systems on the Bilajari–Yalama railway line. Another $302.38 million was allocated for the modernization and digitalization of the alarm system of the Baku Metro.

The implementation of those projects is aimed at expanding the country's logistics potential, increasing energy efficiency and increasing train speeds. In addition, the modernization should help reduce traffic congestion in the capital and improve the safety and efficiency of passenger services.
