IMF publishes forecast on countries of Caucasus and Central Asia

November 2, Fineko/abc.az. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has published its economic forecast on the countries of the Caucasus and Central Asia, which are oil & gas exporters (CCA), which includes Azerbaijan.

ABC.AZ reports that this is stated in IMF report "Prospects for the regional economy: The Middle East & Central Asia".

According to the IMF forecast, real GDP growth is expected to reach 2.6% this year, and 3.8% in 2023. GDP growth in the non-oil sector is set at 3.5% for this year, and 3.2% for 2023. According to the IMF forecast, the growth of the current account balance will be 8.3% this year and 7.3% next year, growth of overall fiscal balance will be 2.1% and 2.6%, respectively.

The IMF predicted average annual inflation for these countries in 2022 and 2023 at the level of 14.1% and 11.1%, respectively.

The CCA oil and gas exporting countries include Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan.
