September 1, Fineko/abc.az. The European Bank for Reconstruction & Development has given a $4 million loan to Azerbaijan’s West & East Forward LLC (WE Forward) and Alat Bay Industrial Development operating on the territory of the Baku International Trade Sea Port for the construction of a cold dry warehouse with capacity of 5,000 tons, ABC.AZ reports with reference to the EBRD.

The loan was given with the purpose to increase the transit potential of Azerbaijan, and is aimed at eliminating the shortage of commercial cold storage facilities in the country. The EBRD funds will support the use of eco-friendly refrigeration technologies. The warehouse will be the first premises in Azerbaijan with certificate EDGE (Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiency).
