May 24, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan is likely to apply Turkish model of agricultural insurance.

Mirza Aliyev, the head of the State Service for Agricultural Programs & Loans, stated that the model implies creation of a special insurance fund and an executive body.

"The executive body will consist of public and private insurance companies," Aliyev said.

He added that at primary stage, agricultural insurance will cover the priority areas, envisaged in the state programs, and then the rest spheres.

"Availability of agricultural insurance in the future will allow farmers and agricultural producers to give collateral-free loans," Aliyev emphasized.
