May 25, Fineko/abc.az. Compared with Jan-Apr 2021, the total number of Azerbaijani citizens traveling abroad increased 2.5-fold up to 400,200 people.

ABC.AZ was informed at the State Statistics Committee that the number of Azerbaijani citizens traveling to Iran increased 4.7-fold, to Turkey 2.6-fold, to Georgia 2.1-fold, to the Russian Federation 1.9-fold.

45.5% of the country's citizens visited Turkey, 16.7% - the Russian Federation, 13.1% - Iran, 8.2%- Georgia, 16.5% - other countries.

Males made up 67.1% and females - 32.9% of travelers.

56.7% of Azerbaijani citizens who visited foreign countries for Jan-Apr 2022 used air, 40.6% - rail and road, 2.7% - sea transport.
