February 7, Fineko/abc.az. Gold took the 2nd place in Azerbaijan's non-oil exports last year.

ABC.AZ reports that AzerGold’s chairman of board Zakir Ibragimov stated about this at company’s annual reporting press conference.

He pointed out that gold mining has grown and contributed to the industry.

Reminding about the transfer of AzerGold to the Azerbaijani Investment Holding as a result of structural changes in our country, Ibrahimov stressed that the company he heads further increases the efficiency:

"Within the framework of the company's strategic goals, the plan has been fully implemented. Our company has also taken successful steps towards opening new branches locally. AzerGold increased gold production by 2.5% last year. We managed to extract 28,000 ounces from Chovdar deposit. Last year, the sale operation also continued successfully."
