Ministry of Finance places 146 million manats in term deposits at commercial banks

August 31, Fineko/abc.az. In August, the Ministry of Finance held six deposit auctions, following which 146 million manats were placed in term deposits at commercial banks in the country.

According to the ministry, as reported to ABC.AZ, two deposit auctions were held on August 6. Following the first auction, 16 million manats were placed in two commercial banks for a term of 28 days at a weighted average interest rate of 6.54%. At the second auction, 25 million manats were placed in one commercial bank for a term of 84 days at a weighted average interest rate of 6.54%.

Following the deposit auction held on August 13, 21 million manats were placed in two commercial banks for a term of 28 days at a weighted average interest rate of 6.54%.

One commercial bank participated in the auction held on August 20. Following the auction, 35 million manats were placed on deposit for a term of 84 days at a weighted average interest rate of 6.53%.

Two more deposit auctions were held on August 27. Following one of the auctions, 19 million manats were placed in two commercial banks for a term of 28 days at a weighted average interest rate of 6.52%, while 30 million manats were placed in one commercial bank for a term of 84 days at a weighted average interest rate of 6.54%.

Thus, the total amount of funds placed following the six deposit auctions in August amounted to 146 million manats.
