August 31, Fineko/abc.az. The number of pensioners in Azerbaijan decreased by 3,335 people, or 0.3%, year-on-year.

According to ABC.AZ, as of the end of July 2026, there were 1 million 99 thousand 979 pensioners in the country, compared with 1 million 103 thousand 314 in the same period of 2025.

A review by individual districts shows that the number of pensioners increased in 14 districts, while it decreased in 52 districts.

The largest increase was recorded in Lachin District, where the number of pensioners rose by 150 people (4.4%) to 3,583.

An increase was also recorded in Fuzuli District — by 197 people (2.2%) to 9,055, and in Aghdam District — by 227 people (1.8%) to 13,001.

The largest decline was recorded in Lerik District, where the number of pensioners decreased by 312 people (4%) year-on-year to 7,535.

In addition, the number of pensioners in Masalli District decreased by 736 people (3.6%) to 19,601, while in Agsu District it fell by 278 people (3.5%) to 7,749.
