May 7, Fineko/abc.az. Georgia's economy is largely dependent on Russia.
ABC.AZ informs with reference to the Georgian media that this information is contained in the report of non-governmental organization "International Transparency - Georgia".
The report says that Georgia is more dependent on tourists, foreign trade and money transfers from Russia.
“This is a serious challenge to Georgia's economic security. The situation with coronavirus allow to reformat the economy of Georgia and become less dependent on Russia. In 2019 Georgia received $1.6 billion at the expense of tourists and money transfers from Russia. This makes up 9% of Georgia’s GDP,” the report says.
The organization also stated that the termination of wheat imports from Russia for some reason will lead to a shortage of wheat in Georgia and a rise in the price of bread.
