November 27, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijani border guards have prevented an attempt of smuggling a large batch of drugs to Azerbaijan.

"Azerbaijani border guards detained two citizens of Iran near village Oruj-Mekhelle of Astara district - Sasanian Vakhdat and Gavipur Hotpesar, violated, who violated the state border of Azerbaijan and tried to hide from prosecution," the State Border Service of Azerbaijan says in a statement.

During the detention the two Iranian citizens were found and confiscated 2.355 kg of heroin, 3.01 kg of opium, 355 g of methamphetamine and 933 pieces of psychotropic drug Methadone.
