October 30, Fineko/abc.az. As of the end of September 2026, Azerbaijan has recorded a rise in the number of bank clients and customer accounts in both monthly and annual terms, according to CBA statistical data.

If at the end of August 2026 the number of bank customers was 16,896,325, by the end of September it reached 17,064,031. Thus, during the month, the indicator grew by 167,706 people (by nearly 1%).

Compared to the same period of last year (15,973,215 people at the end of September 2025), the number of banking customers increased by 1,090,816 people, or by 6.8%.

The total number of customer accounts opened in banks grew from 61,678,691 at the end of August up to 62,864,602 at the end of September. Thus, during the month, the number of accounts increased by 1,185,911 (by about 1.9%).
