Crypto Exchange Bitget Hit by $352 Million Hack, Suspends Withdrawals

September 25, Fineko/abc.az. Cryptocurrency exchange Bitget announced an unauthorized transfer of approximately $351.6 million ($352 million) from several of its hot wallets, temporarily suspending platform withdrawals following the security breach.

CEO Gracy Chen clarified on X that user funds remain secure and that all losses will be fully covered by the Bitget User Protection Fund, which currently holds over $464 million in assets.

Blockchain security firm CertiK highlighted the incident as one of the largest centralized exchange exploits of 2026. Founded in 2018, the Seychelles-based exchange currently serves more than 120 million registered users worldwide.
