September 17, Fineko/abc.az. In Azerbaijan, it is necessary to use artificial intelligence (AI) more actively in public procurement and tenders.
MP Vugar Bayramov made the above-said statement at a meeting of the Milli Majlis Committee on Economic Policy, Industry and Entrepreneurship.
Referring to the conclusion of the Accounts Chamber, the MP said that in more than 51% of public procurement, the difference between the estimated and proposed prices of companies exceeds 20%. According to Bayramov, from angle of view of legislation, this is a significant indicator.
Bayramov noted that 35 of the 38 member countries of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) are using AI in public procurement. In Italy, a special law has also been adopted in this area, providing for the use of blockchain technologies.
According to the MP, the use of AI in tender procedures in Azerbaijan will increase transparency and efficiency of public procurement.
