August 17, Fineko/abc.az. According to Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar, Turkey's domestic oil production reached 23.1 million barrels in the first half of 2026. TPAO accounted for 21.8 million barrels, with 60% of total production originating from the Gabar field.

Natural gas output exceeded 1.641 billion cubic meters during the same period. TPAO produced 1.608 billion cubic meters, while private companies supplied the remaining 33 million cubic meters. The Sakarya Gas Field accounted for 92% of the total gas production. The minister noted plans to double gas production in the Black Sea, while highlighting international operations, including drilling in Somalia, acquiring two field licenses in Libya, and partnering in five fields with 3 billion barrels of oil reserves in Kirkuk, Iraq.
