BP puts assets in North Sea up for sale - deal estimated at $2.7 bn

July 31, Fineko/abc.az. British energy giant BP, as part of the strategic optimization of the portfolio and redistribution of capital in favor of the most profitable projects, has officially started the process of selling its business in the North Sea.

According to Bloomberg, the full sale of assets in the North Sea could bring the company approx. 2 billion pounds ($2.7 billion).

Company’s CEO Meg O'Neill pointed out that the North Sea business remains an important part of the UK's energy system, but it will be more effective to develop it as part of another specialized investor within the new strategy.
