September 16, Fineko/abc.az. The main driving force of economic integration between the Turkic states should not be the expansion of mutual trade, but an increase in joint investments, creation of joint ventures, and deepening of investment ties.

Nazim Imanov, the director general of the Institute of Economics of the Ministry of Science & Education, said this at the 2nd International Conference of the Leading National Analytical Centers of the Organization of Turkic States.

He added that although the volume of trade between the OTS members will increase by 7% in 2026, the completion rate related to opportunities is low due to the similarity of structures, and therefore the focus should be on joint investments.
