June 24, Fineko/abc.az. Global steel production decreased by 0.3% year-on-year in May 2026 and amounted to 157.9 million tons.

ABC.AZ informs that according to the World Steel Association, in the CIS countries, steel production declined by 4.8% year-on-year, but increased by 11.6% compared with the previous month, reaching 6.7 million tons.

Top 10 of the largest producers includes China, India, the U.S., Japan, Russia, South Korea, Turkey, Germany, Brazil, and Vietnam.

Over Jan-May 2026, global production fell by 1.5% to 773.1 million tons.
