June 24, Fineko/abc.az. Kazakhstani fintech powerhouse Kaspi.kz JSC has secured official approval from the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency of Turkey (BDDK) to acquire the Turkish unit of Rabobank Group (Rabobank A.Ş.).

According to ABC.AZ, the transaction is projected to reach financial close in July 2026, subject to customary closing conditions. Commenting on the regulatory milestone, Mikheil Lomtadze, CEO and co-founder of Kaspi.kz, highlighted that this acquisition marks a pivotal turning point in advancing the group's regional financial infrastructure.

Backed by fintech billionaire Vyacheslav Kim, this purchase represents Kaspi.kz's second major market move in Turkey, following its landmark $1.13 billion acquisition of a majority stake in the prominent Turkish e-commerce marketplace Hepsiburada last year.
