May 26, Fineko/abc.az. Iran has warned that oil prices could soar to $200 per barrel amid growing tensions with the U.S. following US strikes on Iranian facilities in the Persian Gulf region.
The U.S. government «has repeatedly demonstrated that it understands only the language of force".ABC.AZ reports that these words belong to the official representative of the Khatam al-Anbiya operational headquarters of the Iranian Armed Forces, Ebrahim Zolfagari.
"As long as the Americans continue their military adventures in our region, no agreement will be reached. Say hello to oil at $200," Zolfaghari wrote on X.
He made this statement on X (formerly Twitter) on May 26, 2026, after the U.S. Armed Forces attacked two Iranian boats and an anti-aircraft missile launcher in southern Iran.
The targets were rocket launchers and boats, presumably mining the Strait of Hormuz.
According to Fox News, with reference to CENTCOM, two Iranian vessels were detained while laying mines. Against this background, Brent crude oil rose more than by 2% (above $95), after falling almost by 3% at the beginning of the week due to expectations of a deal between the U.S. and Iran.
