April 24, Fineko/abc.az. Within the framework of COP29, the banking sector has committed to provide "green" loans in the amount of 2 bn manats over the next 5 years, and appropriate measures are already taken in this direction.

ABC.AZ reports, quoting Zakir Nuriyev, the president of the Association of Banks of Azerbaijan, "green" financing will contribute to both the protection of the ecological balance and transformation of the economy in accordance with the requirements of a new stage of development.

He noted that systemically important banks are implementing a range of large pilot projects that play an important role in transition to a green and sustainable economy. In addition, an Energy Efficiency Fund has recently been established, and banks plan to actively use its funds to finance energy efficiency projects and support the transition to a green economy.
