Gold gets cheaper amid strengthening of dollar and escalation of conflict between U.S. and Iran

April 24, Fineko/abc.az. Gold prices fell on Friday and were heading for significant weekly losses as growing uncertainty over the U.S.-Iran war, following renewed aggression and the breakdown of peace talks, pushed traders towards the dollar.

ABC.AZ informs that the spot price of gold declined by 0.5% to $4,672.22 per ounce by 11:27 a.m. on Baku time and gold futures by 0.8% to $4,686.89 per ounce.

Spot prices were poised to lose 3% this week, coming under renewed pressure from a stronger dollar as concerns about the inflationary impact of the war with Iran supported the U.S. currency.
