April 23, Fineko/abc.az. China will continue to work with partner countries to increase the capacity of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR, Middle Corridor), and aims to increase road cargo transportation with Azerbaijan.
ABC.AZ informs, quoting Chinese Ambassador to Azerbaijan Lu Mei, that China attaches great importance to this route in strengthening regional connectivity, stimulating economic development and ensuring the stability of global supply chains.
The diplomat recalled that by the end of 2025, the cargo transportation by TITR reached a record of 4.7 million tons. China, according to the ambassador, has become the largest source of cargo for this route.
"China will continue to implement project One Belt, One Road jointly with the Azerbaijani side and increase the capacity of the TITR. I would also like to emphasize that China is ready to actively promote the signing of intergovernmental international agreements on road transport with Azerbaijan in order to bring road communication and cross-border transport cooperation between the two countries to a new level," the ambassador said.
