Gold drops in price amid Trump's statements

April 13, Fineko/abc.az. Gold prices fell almost by 2% after Donald Trump's statements about a possible blockade of the Strait of Hormuz.

ABC.AZ informs that according to the Comex exchange on April 13, June gold futures fell to $4,690.1 per troy ounce (-1.94%). May silver futures also declined by 3.57% to $73.748 per ounce.

On April 11, after the announcement of a two-week truce, negotiations between the U.S. and Iran began in Islamabad. According to Vice President J. D. Vance, the parties failed to agree on the terms of a long-term agreement.

On April 12, Trump announced that the U.S. could block the Strait of Hormuz, and the country's Navy could intercept ships that paid for Iran's passage through it.
