September 11, Fineko/abc.az. Over Jan-Aug 2026, services in the field of transport and warehousing were rendered in Azerbaijan for 10.9 bn manats (a rise of 8.7% in real terms against Jan-Aug 2025), the State Statistics Committee informs. The bulk of services accounted for cargo transportation - 59.4% (6.5 billion manats), passenger transportation — 28.1% (3.1 billion manats), as well as warehouse and postal services — 12.5% (1.4 billion manats).

In eight months, 162.7 million tons of cargo were transported in the country (3% more in annual terms). The main volume of transportation accounted for road (63.4%) and pipeline transport (25.3%). Rail transport ensured 7.5%, sea transport - 3.6%, air transport - 0.2% of cargo transportation.

The passenger traffic grew by 9.6% up to 1.49 billion people. The absolute majority of passengers (89.8%) used road transport, 9.5% — metro, 0.7% — other modes of transport.
