March 18, Fineko/abc.az. - (special news) - A draft document to regulate the cryptocurrency market is being prepared in Azerbaijan, the Central Bank of Azerbaijan informed  in response to a request of ABC.AZ.

When asked about the deadline for submitting the document, the regulator said:

"Currently, comprehensive work is underway in Azerbaijan to regulate virtual assets and the activities of their service providers. As part of the Financial Sector Development Strategy 2024-26, taking into account international experience, as well as the principles of financial stability and risk management, an initial version of the relevant draft law has already been prepared.

The draft document, developed taking into account the specifics of the local market, is currently under discussion and analysis with relevant structures. During 2026, it is planned to complete the process of approving the draft law with government agencies and submit it to Parliament."
