March 17, Fineko/abc.az. The Central Bank is analyzing the impact of events around Iran on country's economy.
ABC.AZ reports that Samir Nasirov, the director of the CBA Statistics Department, made the relevant statement at a briefing at the CBA.
"We forecast current account surplus of $2.8–3 bn for 2026. At the same time, we are following the events in the Middle East region. These events last for about two weeks and lead to an increase in global commodity prices. However, questions remain as to whether this phenomenon is temporary or long-term. Therefore, we do not have an updated forecast on the impact on the current account yet," he said.
