November 12, Fineko/abc.az. The Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) is working over a model of bank insurance.

ABC.AZ informs that Rustam Takhirov, the director of the CBA's Department for Sustainable Development of the Financial Sector, made this statement at the presentation of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) report "Monitoring Small and Medium-sized Enterprises in Asia 2025" (ASM 2025) in Baku.

According to Takhirov, the CBA is working with the banking and insurance sectors to assess how the bank insurance model can help increase financing.

"It is these mechanisms that we use to obtain conclusions that are reflected in our strategies and policies. Initiatives to develop a credit rating, a local credit rating mechanism, and other measures to reduce information asymmetry will ultimately help reduce credit risk," he said.

Takhirov added that the CBA uses various channels to receive feedback on small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs), their financing conditions and benefits.

CBA’s spokesman pointed out that a financial inclusion strategy has been developed based on comprehensive diagnostics: "The main goal of this strategy is to ensure that not one, but several government agencies are responsible for addressing SME financing issues."
