10:02 - 16.09.2026

September 16, Fineko/abc.az. Gold prices traded range-bound on Wednesday as market participants centered their focus on the US Federal Reserve's upcoming interest rate announcement. Markets have priced in a 92.4 percent probability of a minimum 25-basis-point rate hike.

Spot gold edged down 0.1 percent to $4,288.48 per ounce (7,290.42 AZN), while US gold futures for December delivery dipped 0.1 percent to $4,328.10. Across other precious metals, spot silver remained unchanged at $63.67 per ounce, platinum slipped 0.3 percent to $1,770.47, and palladium gained 1 percent to $1,301.61.

A resilient US dollar alongside elevated crude oil prices hovering above $100 per barrel continue to weigh on non-yielding bullion. However, intensifying geopolitical volatility in the Middle East and ongoing US fiscal stability concerns provide a floor for gold prices, curbing deeper downside corrections.
