November 4, Fineko/abc.az. Over Jan-Sept 2025, tax arrears to the State Budget increased by 452.6 million manats, or by 14.3% compared to the beginning of the year. The bulk of the debt accounts for the non-oil/gas sector.

ABC.AZ that this is stated in the conclusion of the Accounts Chamber on the Draft State Budget of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2026.

The increase in tax arrears was influenced by both the basic amount of tax, as well as financial sanctions and interest. At the same time, 60.3% of the increase in debt accounted for the principal amount, and 25.3% for accrued interests. The fact that 35.1% of the outstanding amount at the end of the period consists of financial sanctions and interest makes it necessary to strengthen administration in this direction.
