The WB expects oil production in 2026 to exceed the maximum of 2020 by 65%.
In 2026, the average price of Brent crude oil may fall to $60 per barrel, the lowest in the last 5 years, the WB Commodity Markets Group predicts. According to Group’s expectations, which are given in the WB report, in 2026 the level of oil production will exceed the maximum of 2020 by 65%.
"Brent crude oil prices are projected to decline from an average of $68 per barrel in 2025 to $60 in 2026, which is a 5-year low," the WB believes.
As a whole, energy prices are projected to decline by 12% in 2025 and by another 10% in 2026. Sales of electric vehicles are to increase dramatically by 2030, which could also lead to lower demand for oil.
