October 23, Fineko/abc.az. The products of Islamic banking to be introduced in Azerbaijan at the initial stage have been outlined.
ABC.AZ informs that Rustam Takhirov, the director of the Department of Sustainable Development of the Financial Office at the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, said this at the event "Islamic Financial Forum 2025", held in Baku.
He noted that Islamic banking as an alternative financing mechanism is in the center of attention and is included in the CBA's strategic goals: "The main goal is to identify the applied approach of Islamic banking in our country, formulate and implement its strategy. The CBA, together with relevant government agencies, has already begun this process by analyzing the experience of individual countries, in particular countries that have achieved success in using Islamic banking, existing models of Islamic banking, and defining an approach appropriate to our country."
