October 2, Fineko/abc.az. The Garadagh Solar Power Plant has generated almost 1 bn kWh of electricity since its commissioning.

ABC.AZ reports that Javid Abdullayev, director of the State Agency for Renewable Energy Sources under the Ministry of Energy, told reporters about this.

According to Abdullayev, Azerbaijan intends to increase the share of stations using renewable energy sources in installed capacity to 30% by 2030: "We continue intensive work in this direction. One of our main partners is Masdar Company. Its 230 MW power plant has already been commissioned in Garadagh district. October 26 marks two years since the commissioning of this project. When launching the project, we expected that the solar power plant would generate 500 million kWh of electricity per year. It is expected to generate 1 bn kWh of electricity in two years."

Abdullayev added that if the planned pace is maintained, the figure of 30% will be reached earlier - by the end of 2027.
