September 17, Fineko/abc.az. The Central Bank announced deficit in the balance of services for the first 6 months of 2025.

ABC.AZ informs that CBA Statistics Department’s director Samir Nasirov made the relevant statement at a briefing on the presentation of the balance of payments.

He noted that deficit was about $1 billion:

"This is 5.7% less versus the 2024 same term. The main factor contributing to the shortage related to construction and other business services in the oil and gas sector. But it is encouraging that transport services are already being formed with constant surplus. The surplus of transport services for this period amounted to $856 million. When we talk about transportation services, we mainly mean revenue from transit and passenger transportation via both the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) and the South Caucasus Pipeline (SCT). Surplus of tourism services during this period reached close to $194 million."
