Non-performing loans in Azerbaijan exceed 529 million manats

September 1, Fineko/abc.az – As of August 1, 2025, the total loan portfolio of credit institutions in Azerbaijan amounted to 30.2 billion manats, with non-performing loans totaling 529.4 million manats.

ABC.AZ reports, citing the Central Bank, that loans in the national currency accounted for 26.1 billion manats of the total loan portfolio, with non-performing loans in the national currency reaching 433.6 million manats.

During the reporting period, loans in foreign currencies totaled 4.1 billion manats, of which 95.8 million manats were non-performing.

Compared to the same period last year, as of August 1, loans in the national currency increased by 3.4 billion manats, or 15.2%, while loans in foreign currencies decreased by 459.1 million manats, or 10%.

Of the total loans in the national currency during the reporting period, short-term loans amounted to 4.2 billion manats, long-term loans to 21.9 billion manats; loans in foreign currencies included 670 million manats in short-term loans and 3.5 billion manats in long-term loans.
