August 22, Fineko/abc.az. The U.S. Department of Agriculture is immediately suspending funding for solar and wind energy projects on productive agricultural land.

According to ABC.AZ, it was announced that this measure is linked to growing concerns that subsidized solar farms restrict access to farmland and drive up land prices. From now on, USDA funds cannot be used to purchase solar panels from countries designated by the United States as “foreign adversaries.” The department hopes this step will protect food security and national interests. U.S. Agriculture Secretary Brooke L. Rollins stated that “valuable farmland should not be sacrificed to taxpayer-subsidized solar power plants.”
