According to Central Bank's forecasts from July 2025, real economic growth this year will be 3% for total GDP and 4.2% for non-oil/gas GDP. GDP growth in 2025 will be mainly driven by the non-oil/gas sector.
ABC.AZ reports with reference to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) that real economic growth in 2026 is projected at 2.2% (136.3 billion manats) and 4.3% (93.7 bn manats) for the entire sector and the non-oil/gas sector, respectively. The non-oil/gas sector is expected to be the main driver of GDP growth in 2026.
GDP growth in the oil & gas sector is projected to increase by 1.2% in 2025 and decrease by -1.2% in 2026. Forecasts for the oil & gas sector are based on official forecasts of the government.
"Realization of the economic growth forecast for 2025 and 2026 will depend on the dynamics of real household consumer spending. On the other hand, uncertainty in global commodity and financial markets may also affect implementation of economic growth forecasts through various channels," the CBA says.
