August 11, Fineko/abc.az. Turkish Airlines remained the only known bidder for a stake in Spanish airline Air Europa after German Lufthansa rejected its offer to buy the carrier.

ABC.AZ reports that earlier, Air France-KLM also announced its withdrawal from the process.

IAG, which owns British Airways, owns a 20% stake in Air Europa, but it was unable to obtain regulatory approval for a full takeover of the airline after years of negotiations in 2024.
In a statement filed with regulators on June 20, Turkish Airlines indicated that it was in non-binding talks with Air Europa to explore potential investment and partnership opportunities.
