Container shipments along Middle Corridor grew by 11% up to 54,000 TEU

September 9, Fineko/abc.az. Close to 54,000 TEU of containers were transported along the Middle Corridor for Jan-Aug 2026 (11% higher versus Jan-Aug 2025).

Rashid Majidov, Chief Operating Officer at ADY Express LLC (the subsidiary of Azerbaijan Railways CJSC (ADY)) made the relevant statement at a CICA conference.

Majidov noted that transportation in the East–West direction reaches 42,000 TEU, while on the West–East route the idnicator is only 10,000-11,000 TEU. In this regard, elimination of the imbalance in the West–East direction is one of the main priorities of ADY.
