July 7, Fineko/abc.az. Discussions on a vote of no confidence to the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, have begun in the European Parliament.
ABC.AZ informs that the reason was the scandal surrounding contracts with Pfizer for the purchase of COVID-19 vaccines and the refusal to disclose correspondence with the head of the company.
Voting is scheduled for July 10. A vote requires 2/3 of the votes to be passed, but the majority of the factions do not support the initiative. Despite the likely failure, the scandal has increased pressure on the EC on transparency and accountability.
