April 7, Fineko/abc.az. German automaker Audi (part of the Volkswagen Group) is suspending car supplies to the U.S. due to import duties imposed by U.S. President Donald Trump.
ABC.AZ reports, referring to newspaper Bild, that a company representative confirmed the sending of a corresponding letter to dealers.
Thus, all vehicles imported into the U.S. after April 2 will be temporarily delayed and not transferred to dealers. Now dealers, as the newspaper notes, should focus on reducing their inventory levels.
At that, the company representative added that currently there are more than 37,000 cars in Audi warehouses in the U.S., which are not subject to new duties, and therefore they can be sold. That would be enough for about 2 months.
