August 31, Fineko/abc.az. Armenia’s potential withdrawal from the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) poses significant risks to key sectors of its domestic economy, particularly producers of alcoholic beverages, cut flowers, and fish.
According to trade statistics, Russia accounts for 86% of Armenia's hard alcohol exports, 88% of its cut flower shipments, and 98% of its fish exports. Exiting the economic bloc would strip Armenian producers of duty-free and simplified market access to their largest export destination.
Economic analysts warn that due to strict phytosanitary requirements and logistics constraints in alternative markets, a loss of preferential access to Russia could lead to severe production cutbacks and financial losses for local enterprises.
